Don't Stop Recoverin! - Day +20
Been a minute, I know. Figured it was time for a quick update. Things at home have gone really well this first week. It's been a nice change to sleep in my own bed, spend time with the family and I know some of you might think I'm crazy, but I'm excited about doing the little bits of work I've been able to do. Don't worry I'm not headstrong into. Just a few hours each day. In fact, I had my first photo session today since leaving for Madison!
I also don't want to bury the lead, but we had my follow up appointment yesterday and I couldn't have had better results. My doctor was very pleased with everything and said to just continue as I've been. They still want me being cautious. No Costco runs on a Saturday morning for me for awhile, but I can definitely go to businesses and restaurants, but just mask up and be smart.
Things I've learned about this recovery process is that it's not linear. One day is great (like yesterday) and another day you're just kind of blah! Not terrible, just low energy or general stomach issues. Both of which happened today. But I try to rest as necessary.
It's also never a fun time to deal with vehicle issues either. Friday we took a trip to take the dogs to the groomer and on the way home, my truck, which hadn't moved since leaving for Madison decided it was a great time for the engine to seize. So we're truck hunting now.
Truth be told that truck didn't owe me anything. I put 200k miles on it myself and it had a total of 260k+ on it.
I've really enjoyed being home. I do wish food tasted a little better, but hey, maybe I'll actually lose the weight I keep saying I'm going to.
I know I endlessly say thank you to our community, friends and family but seriously, we have the best of all. So once again, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you!
