Headbangers Bald

My stem cell transplant is finally here. Sort of. I'm hunkered down at the hotel currently in Madison and will be for the most part for the next two days before I get admitted and do the actual stem cell procedure. Today was just chemo and cryotherapy (aka eating ice for an hour and a half). The ice helps to prevent mouth sores, so fingers crossed I don't have to deal with that. Most of the side effects shouldn't start until Friday or Saturday, maybe even as late as Sunday. But for now I'm a man with no immunity, quite literally. The Melphalan chemo is meant to eviscerate my immune system, then I get the stem cells on Thursday and that helps to recover my immune system and push the cancer down as far as it can go.

I just wanted to take a minute to thank everyone. My friends, family, clients and most importantly Stephanie. The eternal worrier, she's been an amazing help, just being a second set of ears with the doctors and making sure that I'm all settled and taken care of. I couldn't do this without her. But also thank you to everyone for your love, support and help. Even if it was just a word of encouragement or a phone call/text to say you're thinking of me, it's not gone unnoticed.

And apologies, if I haven't returned a message. It's been crazy, but will start slowing down tomorrow. I absolutely loved the way this video came out, so thank you to Nick, my main video editor for putting this together for us.

I'll keep everyone up to date as things progress. So stay tuned.
